La Spezia enjoys a mild climate and is therefore also ideal for a holiday in the winter months. A stay in La Spezia is very convenient: you can reach Riomaggiore by train and take a walk along the Path of Love (2.5 km), which is 50 metres above the sea and takes you to Manarola. Manarola is home to the world's largest nativity scene during the Christmas season: more than 300 man-sized figures made of twisted iron are scattered among the vineyards and illuminated by a total of 17,000 light bulbs! If you want to continue your hike: from Manarola and through Corniglia, with one of the longest beaches in the Cinque Terre, you can reach Vernazza and Monterosso. An idea for a day trip: in less than an hour you can reach Forte dei Marmi in Tuscany, for shopping enthusiasts Pietrasanta on the Via Francigena is unmissable, the famous medieval town of art offers galleries and works of art by international artists along the streets of the town centre.
