Good location for exploring the Cinque Terre area, by car, by sea (daily ferry service from Levanto) or via one of the many hiking trails through the Mediterranean scrub. The picturesque coastal village of Portovenere, the pearl of the Gulf of Poets with its ancient castle and the church of San Pietro built on the cliff, is certainly worth a visit. Access to the house via a 100m long unpaved pedestrian path.
