Pula is also rich in great restaurants, some of which you will find while walking around the old town, which is rich in Roman remains. The most famous of all the Roman monuments in Pula, the starting and ending point of any sightseeing tour is the amphitheater, popularly known as the Arena of Pula. It was built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian. Today, the place is known for summer performances - the Film Festival, Opera Festival, Equestrian Festival, concerts and theater performances.
